Most teenagers would balk at the idea of summer school. Summer school means to most that they did not do well during the course of the academic year, and that they are being “punished”. Flashcards of specific words representing that particular emotion can be used to focus an emotion to the language and the perception of that emotion.

Special resources are in class assignments that can be completed by those in the group who are the least developmentally or physically handicapped. They can act as tutors to those who can’t seem to finish the assignment and might turn to acting out in an attempt to cover for their inability to do the work. Always be aware that participants in special education classes know their limits and are extremely sensitive about them.
